Had a nice relaxed day in La Paz. Off to a bit of a late start with Ms. M. walked to our current favorite coffee shop, Gratitude. We stopped in the public market for some gifts.

From here we wanted to go to lunch & the whale museum, but the museum closes at 2 so we skidaddled over there. We stopped at a different Publix market for a snack: The Hawaiian smoothie with pineapple, orange, and… Celery. It was ok, but served tepid.
The Whale Museum was good. I learned that orca sex can be distinguished by the shape of their dorsal fins (tall and pointy = male). Whales are divided into toothy cetaceans and baleen whales. The ancestor of whales was a dog like creature that lived in present day Pakistan (it was near sea level then), and there were about 15 million years between being a fully land dwelling creature to being fully aquatic. Whales have vestigial hip bones. Grey whales are bottom feeders. Baja California Sur has 5 of the 7 species of turtles in the world. Worth it.
A very Rositas meal at one of the few places open for lunch. Ms. M got chillaquilea – what nachoes should have been.

A little siesta, then dinner and a walk home.
Pleasent day.
