Getting back into the swing of things

Lovely day yesterday – amazing weather, a walk on the beach, fantastic dinner and an early evening snuggling with my sweetie.

I really like James Clear’s conceptions of habits – one quick take away is that your ‘identity’ drives a lot of unconscious behavior (also called Habits). Key to changing habits is changing identity.

I think on-the-road me is a different identity than in-the-house-me. For example, on the road I eat whatever I can as frequently as possible. At home, I pretty much don’t eat anything until quite late in the day.

It’s kind of a big shift – remembering ‘who you are’ seems like the best way to get back into the swing of things. So Job 1 for this week is keep being the me that lives here (including Intermittent Fasting).

For what it’s worth, an alternative title for this blog was Intermittently Fast – I still like it quite a bit.
