Credit card touring in Oliver

Tl;Dr: Great trip with the merry bikers to Oliver, Canada B.C.

I’m just back from 4 days of bike touring near Oliver in British Columbia. I’m really impressed with the beauty and bike facilities!

Oliver, Penticton and Chute Lake are on the east side of the Canadian Cascades. All three places are on lakes: Chute Lake is small, Oliver’s is medium size and Penticton’s lake (Lake Okanagon) is *huge*.

The area has moderately sized hills, all covered in gentle foliage and trees – the forest picks up as you climb in elevation. The geology is pretty amazing.

Imagine hills like these, but *lots*

We mostly rode on the Kettle Valley Trail – a rail trail from Lk. Okanagan up through Chute Lake Lodge and beyond. As rail trails go, it’s pretty predictable. The addition of Storm Shelters in Myra Canyon is pretty amazing though.

Speaking of Myra Canyon, there are Tressles. 18. That’s a lotta tressels.

But the best part was the company. Thank you Bruce for another amazing trip!
