J goes to Greely

Tl;Dr: Kid2 now lives in Colorado, we had a great trip to Greely

This is a brief brain dump.

J, M and I flew to Denver to take J to college. The trip out was uneventful. We had good food in Denver, ‘Chili Verde’ and Sunny’s. We stayed in “LoHi” – the lower highlands of Denver, a great location.

The weather was hot – near 100 degrees.

On Day 2 we drove to Greely, got J installed at UNC, did some shopping and met the roomates. The room mates seemed good. Accidentally left a credit card at lunch, oops. M and I drove back to Denver, and had a great meal at the Delibar.

On Day 3 M & I saw a LOT of art at the Kirkland Museum & Denver Art Museum. J realized he needed a few more things, but generally was getting settled in and playing basket ball. M & I saw old friends from 15 years ago – had a great dinner & fun catching up.

On day 4 we were surprised to find out car had been towed! Fortunately, it was towed 2 blocks away, we were able to get it very easily. Now we just have to battle the police dept. We stopped at an art store on the way to the airport, then M flew to Seattle and I went to visit BerkClub in Minnesota.

High:

• Hearing Julian sounding excited about meeting people at school, meeting his suite mates
• Lots of great food
• Seeing old friends after 15 years
• Art overload
• Nice tow truck driver

Low:

• There were some meltdowns
• Towed car (wtf!)
• Strangely scented lobby in our Airbnb

Buffalo:

• Towed car (wtf!!)
