Fixing Kanga’s Nose

A story from a long time ago.

Kid2 had a variety of stuffed animals when he was young. His favorite was always Kanga. Over the years Kanga was the recipient of lots and lots of love. Primarily on her about. After around 7 years of this her face was pretty much destroyed.

Around this time a new store opened up on Greenwood Avenue featuring fabric and leather fabrication services. On a whim, K2 and I walked down there to see what they could do for Kanga.

The shop person was very, very kind and told us they could definitely help. Then we went through the process of picking out new material for Kanga’s Nose, and making a sketch of what she should look like when done.

We dropped her off for a few days and Viola – she had a new nose that’s lasted ever since.

When I picked up Kanga I asked the clerk about what other kind of business they did. It was quite hilarious to learn that the did custom leather tailoring, seemingly with a focus on Leather (as in the Leather lifestyle). I’m sure Kanga’s Nose was the cutest thing they did that year.
