Unconscious theater : 3 what’s

3 whats

I was reading a web site. There was a discussion of a wheat field for sale at a ridiculously low price. I looked into it – the ‘field’ was a patch of land about 15 feet by 10, irregularly shaped, embedded in the side yard of somebody’s rural house. There were actually 3 such patched, none of which amounted to anything interesting or valuable. After I posted this the attention of the website moved on to better things.

Weeks later I was called into the office – a dreary and disheveled affair. My boss said I was in trouble, and that I would meet with the Tribunal. I met with one of two of them individually, but eventually we went to the disused stairway of a library to meet. I sat about 20 feet away from them.

My boss let me know that my little investigation had taken Cornwall coast guard’s radar offline for 20 minutes. Multiple people could have died, I had exposed a national secret. That somehow my short little investigation of the wheat patch had exposed a national intelligence operation that cost millions of dollars.

I defended myself by saying something insane.

Then the third person in the Tribunal appeared.

I was definitely in trouble
